The history of Bulgarian nation is inseparable part of the history our education and of the presence of Bulgarian teacher. First in Middle ages in Bulgaria to raise the idea about education and speaking native language were the brothers Kiril and Methodi. This is their eternal contribution in development of the world culture. Even though system attempts of Turkey government to destroy Bulgarian nation with imposing the education on foreign language, live educational spots are saved in the monastery. These are known as a "cell" schools. The Bulgarian language is used first in the church. An important role of this had Dionisii Agathionski from Dragor village. His work from 1790 to 1827 had a big contribution to cell education in Kalugerovo. The first cell school in monastery “St. Nicola“dates back from1818.
The beginning to world education in Kalugerovo was founded in November 1874. This fact was known by a letter to the head teacher Nikifor pop Konstantinov in a school in Pazardhik. There was information about state all school in Pаzardzhik area by Alexander Exarh. “The school in Kalugerovo was written on a fifth plase after Panagyuriste, Bratcigovo, Belovo, Batak.There they appointed one of locals students as a teacher. It gatered over 40 students. This school was success.
The name of the first teacher in this school is Dimitar Atanasov . It was known of the fact that during the second study year – 1849 in Kalugerovo was taken in magazine
“Conclusion of the physics” , issued by D.Atanasov.
In the beginning the occupations was hold in private houses The students studied by the mutually method. By the story is known that there were built schools in 1861 – 62. The one of buildings was in yard of church for the children in the Big quarter and other - in the Small quarter.
Famous teacher before Liberation is Theophil Beikov from Kalugerovo,who studied eldery and young people to read and write for 26 years. The museum in Pazardzhik saved a document which noted a fact that he as a teacher had subscribed the school for “History of Bulgarians” by Gavril Krastevich in 1869.
During the April Revolt the schools and the churches were burned. After that with a help of d-r Long / american/ were built temporary schools.The discomfort forced the community to look for other possibilities for a new shools both quarters. So in 1884 appeared the new school in the Big quarter. This isknown by the head teacher’s annual report in the village Petar Kanev / 24 May 1892 /. In 1884 was confirmed the inscription into the book “Obsession” saved in the church. “The present book is being given by Martin Germanov from Paliot village in old Armenia who was made the preset school in Kalugerovo to be survice for memory in Kalugerovo church, 28 February 1884 ” .
Until 1890 there isn't much information about school development. In 1879 was built new elementary school in a Small quarter, which was painted and completed in 1911.
Until 1919 the village had only elementary schools because a dozens of the children had with elementary education. The idea to open a secondary school gradually appeared and in 1919 – 1920 it realized. Roza Nankova was both director and head teacher.
All people with donation and volunteer work finished the building to cooperative”Hope”. The follows directors were Roza Nankova, Krastio Veltchev, Eugene Blagova, Asen Stoyanov, Nikola Velev.
1959 - this is the year when was built the present school. It consolidated both three schools. In January 1960 worked one secondary school. Thanks to the enthusiasm of young teacher team and whole community the noble deed succeeded.
At the present moment– 2010 the school has large sunny rooms , computer room with air-conditioning , work rooms, canteen.
Many former students are engineers, doctors, architects, agronomists, deputy. We all are proud with achievements a former pupil of the school.
